Congratulations to custodian Marcos Barrios, the 2025-2026 Caney Creek High School Humanitarian of the Year! Barrios was overwhelmingly nominated by his peers and chosen by a committee to honor the vital work Barrios puts in every day. Barrios was noted as someone who not only does their job well, but he also anticipates the needs faculty, staff and administrators, and advocates on behalf of the students and teachers to not only make sure things are done, but done well.

Congratulations to AP Psychology teacher James Wilson, the 2025-2026 Caney Creek High School Rising Star teacher! Wilson was nominated by her peers and chosen by a committee to honor his endless energy and teamwork, passion for the science of psychology, and loudly supporting students in positive ways every day. Wilson teaches psychology and AP Psychology, and he also founded the National Psychology Honor Society this year.

Congratulations to CTE Department Chair Jessica Smith, the 2025-2026 Caney Creek High School Teacher of the Year! Smith was nominated by her peers and chosen by a committee to honor her tireless work and to go on to represent Caney Creek as its nominee for Conroe ISD Teacher of the Year. Smith teaches food science, manages the career and technical education department, and has assisted with numerous organizations and courses in the past including floral design, SkillsUSA and FFA.
